Interest level: 10 – This is one of my favorite novels of all time.  Sittenfeld does an extraordinary job of creating deep, dynamic, thoughtful characters.  This book is a gem.

Ease of read: 9 – CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN

Life changer: 5 – It doesn’t really change your life, but it does remind you that the story of any person’s life all depends on the perspective of the narrator.

Recommendation level: 10, for a novel.

TTBR Synopsis:  The story is loosely based on the life of Laura Bush, but even if you don’t think about that, it’s just a story of a woman growing up through various time periods, experiencing amazing things, and doing her best.  Sittenfeld also attended the Iowa Writers Workshop, which is neat.
