Interest level: 10 – More than 10, but I hate breaking the rules of a scale.

Recommendation level: 10 – Again, higher. Because this book isn’t just some frilly story of teenage love in a strange time. In fact, she doesn’t even fight for her love life – she pushes it away because she’s at least smart enough to realize that there are more important things in the world. The political science aspect of this book is breathtaking. I can’t praise Suzanne Collins enough. Even though you love the characters, you hate what the situation and story does to them. They all become hateful, hated, and lost as they search for their freedom. I love their brokenness.

TTBR Synopsis: Katniss loses everything in her quest to find freedom. And even when she finds it, it doesn’t matter, because she’s lost almost everything she was fighting for in the process. And yet… it’s magical.
